How do I order a custom cake?
Custom cake orders and payments are usually made over the phone, text, or via email.
To request an estimate, please email a photo of the cake from either Google image search or Pinterest using our website form or email us at info@helenawirthcakes.com or send a text to (818) 270-8788.
We also accept rough sketches as attachments. We'll also need the number of servings, date of event, and if there are any dietary restrictions or special requests.
Can I stop by without an appointment?
Not at this time. Please call us at (818) 904-9566 to order a cake over the phone.
How soon do I have to place the custom cake order?
We recommend booking your custom cake order as soon as possible. Call us at (818) 904-9566 to find out if we can make a custom cake for your event.
A 50% deposit is required to confirm your cake order. Full payment is required if your event is less than two weeks away. Your cake is not confirmed without payment.
Again, for last-minute orders (2 weeks or less before event date), payment in full is required.
How much are your custom cakes?
There are many factors involved in pricing our cakes such as the intricacy of the cake design and time involved to make that cake. Organic, gluten-free vegan and sugar-free cake ingredients will increase the cost of the cake. Decorations such as fresh flowers, sugar flowers, or any figurines made with fondant will increase the cost of the cake.
Price estimates are given in-person, via email, and over the phone. When choosing a cake baker, please consider reputation of the bakery (are they baking from home?) if the quality of the cake is important. We have many people come to us the day before their event because the baker they chose by price canceled at the last minute or complain that their cake was too dry and flavorless.
The final custom cake price will be quoted based on the actual or final cake design.
Do you make custom cookies and cake pops?
Yes, please call us for details. The price depends on design.
What if I found a cake for a lower price?
We take great pride in our cakes and the ingredients we use. We are unable to match our competitor cake prices.
Please ensure you are comparing the same cake design and exact cake size(s).
Our suggestion is not to base your decision solely on price.
There are many cases when other bakers charge lower prices and at the very last minute cancel cake orders because they cannot do the artwork. Please don't let this happen to you.
We get a lot of last-minute requests for custom cakes because customers take this risk with unprofessional bakers or bakeries. We do not ever cancel cake orders.
It's important that you trust your baker and that your bakery is not working out of their home and their bakery is being inspected by the Los Angeles Health Department.
All our cakes are made fresh to order and are moist and flavorful.
Many of our local competitor cakes we are told from our customers are dry, dense, and way too sweet. Please ensure your cake bakery meets your taste preferences and they are not using pre-made cakes or using frozen stock. Please sample your custom cake before you purchase it.
It is important to research and read the most recent reviews on Yelp or Google before choosing a bakery.
What if I have dietary restrictions or preferences?
Depending on the timing of your order, we might be able to accommodate your request for organic, vegan, gluten-free, or sugar-free cakes. Ask us about using organic cake ingredients or ingredients from our local farmer’s market.
Are there any restrictions when ordering a cake or cupcakes?
We are a custom cake bakery. We do it all! No order is asking too much or too little.
We make any kind of cake for most dietary restrictions on a request basis including organic, vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free, keto-friendly etc.
What is your payment and cancellation policy?
Final guest count and payment balance are due at least two weeks prior to the date of the affair. A 30% cancellation fee will be charged on the total amount for all cancelations. No money will be refunded on cancellation made fourteen (14) days or less prior to the date of the affair. A service charge of 1.5 % per month shall be payable to purchaser who agrees to pay all expenses of collection including but not limited to courts cost and reasonable attorney' fees.

Do you ship or deliver your cakes?
Yes, we ship select cakes nationwide and also deliver cakes throughout Los Angeles County, Orange County, Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, and San Diego County for a fee based on mileage and time of delivery.
Our cakes have been shipped around the country or picked up and delivered as far as north as Napa, east to Las Vegas, and south to San Diego.
Where do I pick up my cake?
Cakes are available for pick up at the Sherman Oaks location only. Please call on the day of event to confirm pick up time.
Sherman Oaks is our office location to meet clients for a cake tasting appointment.
What if I'm not happy with my cake?
If for any reason you are unhappy with your cake, please alert us when you pick up the cake at the bakery or at the time of the delivery to find out if we can resolve your issue as soon as possible. Please call us 24/7 at (818) 904-9566 with your feedback on our cakes.
We want all of our clients to be happy with their custom cake!
Are your custom cakes refundable?
No, our custom cakes are non-refundable. We are not responsible for any damage to the cake once it leaves our bakery and transported by our clients. Please ask us about delivery.
Can we film or take photographs in your bakery?
No, filming or photographs are prohibited unless authorized by our bakery.
